Bereavement Support
Losing a loved one, whether suddenly or over a long period, is never easy. The feeling of grief after the loss of a loved one is a natural human emotion. Grief is usually an emotional experience, as well as a physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual trial. People have a variety of responses to grief, such as numbness and shock, constant sadness, denial, loss of appetite, loss of interest in activities, low energy, restlessness, and more. At Serenity Hospice, we offer family members and loved ones the support and guidance they need to help them process this difficult time in a healthy and understandable way.
Our bereavement program helps family and friends to grieve by providing:
- Information about the normal grief process
- Support and counseling to the grieving family and friends of the deceased
- Assistance in learning to cope with their loss
- Availability through letters, calls, visits, and even text messages to provide the most convenient support
Our bereavement support program is aimed to help survivors cope and grieve after a death. With Medicare, we provide this service for up to 13 months after a patient's death.
